S.Korean food safety authorities audit Polish beef sector

The audit could help open Korean market for Polish beef

Representatives of the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety were in Poland to conduct an audit of its beef sector, according to a press release from its veterinary authority

The meeting from the Polish side was attended by Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer Paweł Meyer, representatives of GIW, MRiRW offices and provincial and district veterinary inspectorates involved in the audit.

The meeting discussed issues related to the structure and tasks of the Veterinary Inspectorate, the functioning of the official laboratory system and the identification and registration of animals. During the visit in Poland, Korean auditors visited the National Veterinary Institute - State Research Institute in Puławy, the Provincial Veterinary Inspectorate and the Department of Veterinary Hygiene in Poznań, two beef plants and one cattle farm.

The audit is the next stage of the procedure for opening the Korean market for Polish beef.
