Canada invests $4M to boost beef exports and market access
Canada Beef and Canadian Cattle Association share two-year funding
The Canadian government has announced more than $4 million in funding for two beef industry organisations through the AgriMarketing Program, Canada's federal agriculture minister Heath MacDonald announced.
Canada Beef will receive up to $3.74 million over two years from 2026 to 2028 to increase awareness and demand for Canadian beef and veal among domestic and international customers. The Canadian Cattle Association will receive up to $300,000 over the same period to advance trade advocacy, strengthen international relationships and promote evidence-based trade rules.
"Canada Beef applauds the federal government's efforts to open and expand international trade opportunities for Canadian beef," said Eric Bienvenue, president of Canada Beef.
"AgriMarketing funding allows CCA to participate in federal trade missions, explore potential new export markets, and assure that the Canadian cattle producer voice and perspective is included in global policy decisions," said Tyler Fulton, president of the Canadian Cattle Association.
