Brazilian beef exports up 27% in first half of 2025
Strong foreign demand offsets weak domestic market pricesBeef exports continue to play a key role in sustaining prices across Brazil’s livestock sector. In 2025, international demand for Brazilian beef remains high, helping to support overall market performance, according to a recent market report from Cepea.
According to Secex data, Brazil earned US$7.2 billion from beef exports between January and June—up 27%compared to the same period in 2024. The increase was driven by a 12.5% rise in export volume and a 12.7% increase in average prices in US dollars.
In June alone, export revenue surged 50% year-over-year, supported by a 23% gain in volume and a 22% rise in price.
Domestically, however, market conditions have softened. Liquidity remained low in mid-July, and prices declined in the first half of the month. From June 30 to July 15, wholesale beef carcass prices in the Greater São Paulo region fell 4.85%, averaging R$20.97/kg on July 15.
During the same period, the CEPEA/ESALQ Index for fed cattle in São Paulo State dropped 5.29% to R$300.60.
