Wholesale beef up 18% from 2024

Fed cattle prices in São Paulo state showed volatility in the second half of the year but remained firm overall, according to Cepea. The CEPEA/ESALQ Index fell 2% in September, rose 4.9% in October and increased a further 3.7% in November.

In December, the index remained stable, averaging BRL 321.59 in the first half of the month. Prices ranged from a high of BRL 328.50 in mid-April to a low of BRL 291.80 in late July.

Wholesale beef carcass prices in Greater São Paulo averaged BRL 21.95 per kilogram from January to Dec. 12, up 18% from 2024 levels.
