Beef supply in Brazil seen at 20-month low - Cepea
Cepea says exports tightening availability as prices firm
Domestic beef availability in Brazil may reach its lowest level since March 2023 in November, according to data from Cepea. The volume is estimated to be 5% below that of November 2024, a decline linked to stronger exports.
Historically, limited supply supports higher prices for both fed cattle and beef. In the wholesale market of Greater São Paulo, prices are rising more quickly, while fed cattle values remain firm.
Cepea noted that the key difference from a year earlier lies in supply conditions. In November 2024, fed cattle availability fell sharply, while this November delivery windows are more flexible.
