Beef exports to Central America soar in value despite slim volume gains - USMEF

Guatemala leads first-quarter surge as regional revenues climb 19%

US beef exports to Central America rose modestly in volume but surged in value in the first quarter of 2026, with regional shipments up just 1% to 6,100 metric tons while value climbed 19% to $62.6 million, according to data released by USDA and compiled by the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF). 

Guatemala led the way, with volume up 18% to 2,944 metric tons and value up 28% to $30.6 million.
