Families' fury as the BSE safeguards are lifted
UK - The crisis over 'mad cow' disease was officially declared over yesterday - to the dismay of grieving families. Ministers are to lift a ban on the eating of meat from older animals, which was previously seen as a key safeguard. They suggested the Government is more interested in saving money as millions of pounds have to be spent slaughtering animals and compensating farmers.Source: Europe Intelligence Wire via Hoovers
