No alarm bells ringing following new BSE

CANADA - Canada’s fifth case of BSE this year has been confirmed in an Alberta cow, officials said last Wednesday. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said preliminary information provided by the owner and an examination conducted by a private veterinarian estimate the animal’s age to be between eight and 10 years. The CFIA say no part of the animal entered the human food or animal feed systems.
