Co-running the project with DairyCo, HCC (Meat Promotion Wales) are EBLEX who urge farmers to select the right grass species and mixture to improve grassland yield, consistency and quality.

The RGCL benefits from the input of the British Society of Plant Breeders and the British Grassland Society and offers information around performance measures, agronomic characteristics and availability of seeds.

Five brand new varieties of tetraploid perennial ryegrasses are offered on the list. Alfonso is a late variety, AberClyde, Aston, Bonus and Pensel are intermediates and Carriag is an early variety.

Diploid Italian ryegrass Javorio, White Clover Buddy and Palmata, a tetraploid hybrid ryegrass are also new additions for 2013.
