Consultation on Cattle Traceability Launched

01 August 2012

NORTHERN IRELAND, UK - The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) has launched a consultation seeking views on a number of proposed changes to the cattle traceability system.

The main proposal is to allow registered agents to notify information on cattle births, movements and deaths to DARD on a keeper’s behalf.

The proposals also include a requirement to notify lost or stray cattle to DARD.

The consultation will close on 28 September 2012 and copies of the consultation documents are available on the DARD website.
