Rosselkhoznadzor Bans Meat Imports from Two Brazilian States

RUSSIA - The Russian food safety authority, Rosselkhoznador has imposed temporary restrictions on import of meat and livestock from two states in Brazil.

The move follows the discovery of vesicular stomatitis cases in two Brazilian states Goiás and Pernambuco.

The ban applies to cattle, pigs, horses and other one-hoofed animals, deer, semen and embryos of these animals, as well as red meat (cattle).

Rosselkhoznador said the restrictions do not refer to beef and raw beef products processed before 11 June.
