That's one of the points a visioning study of the beef industry in Ontario has found.

It was released yesterday to delegates of the Ontario Cattlemen's Association Annual Meeting -- which continues today in Toronto.

John Groenewegen is the consultant leading the study.

He says the industry needs to address the issue of distrust between producers and processors, along with the distrust between other producers.

He says one of the big things to do that - is improve information sharing.

Some of the other key factors the industry needs to address for success include recovering genetic and carcass information, improving cow-calf profitability, and developing necessary critical mass in supply offerings of cattle.
