Debate over BSE self-testing in US

US - The US beef industry is engulfed in a debate over self-testing for mad cow disease, which some complain is weakening efforts to reopen the Japanese beef market. "With the US beef industry shut out of Japan since December, and Australia making up the lion's share of the shortfall, the US industry is embroiled in a domestic fight that some fear will continue to keep US beef out of Japan", reports Matt Kaye.
