Already exports of live cattle to Indonesia have reached 700,000 this year and the potential for a large increase will present big opportunities for cattleproducers in Queensland and the Norther Territories, according to a report on ABC.

One of Australia's biggest private landholders, McDonald Holdings director Zander McDonald says the feedlots will drive up the price of beef and generate greater demand from southern parts of Queensland, the ABC report says.

He said that a lot more cattle will be required to fill the market in Indonesia and this could benefit producers in south Queensland as Northern Territory and the north of the state would not be able to satisfy demand.
