Print This Page SAMIC CEO Resigns
SOUTH AFRICA - The Chief Executive Officer and Director of the board of the South Africa Meat Industry Company (SAMIC), Manie Booysen, has resigned.

Mr Booysen put in his resignation after the 55th Meeting of the SAMIC board held on 19 September.
The SAMIC board said that Mr Booysen had indicated that he would like to exploit new business opportunities.
The resignation came after a very successful seven and a half years as CEO with the highlight being the recent 17th World Meat Congress that took place in Cape Town.
"This event really made South Africa and the Red Meat Industry proud," a spokesman for the SAMIC board said.
Mr Booysen represented the South African Red meat industry on many national and international forums and was recently appointed Vice President of the International Meat Secretariat.
