Print This Page Brazil Forecast to Export a Million Tonnes of Beef
BRAZIL - Despite the ban on beef going into Europe took a huge toll on the exports of chilled beef from Brazil, there are now 200 ranches approved for export into the European Union.According to the Argentine Beef Packers S.A., Brazil can put its house in order for expansion in years to come. They report that exports are going to be more than one million tons of beef for the year, the equivalent of 1.5 million tons in carcass weight.
Jbs-Fribol and Mafrig, have found the domestic market as good as the export market this year for prime cuts, with the economic boom in Brazil increasing the demand for meat.
Chile is expected to open its doors to Brazil in November, a market normally serviced by Argentina, this again will impact the previous reliance on Europe.
