Summary

EU rules on the sustainable use of pesticides aim to protect human health and the environment from the possible risks and impacts of pesticides.

The rules encourage reducing pesticides through:

  • integrated pest management
  • alternatives to chemical pesticides.

This initiative reviews to what extent these objectives have been met and options for further reducing pesticide use to help meet the goals of the Farm to Fork Strategy and the European Green Deal.
