The highlight is Saudi Arabia, which imported USD 10 million worth of beef and already is in second place among Arab markets. The country resumed purchases of beef from Brazil only recently, after a three-year embargo.

Shipments to Lebanon, Algeria, Jordan, Libya and Qatar also went up.

In the case of Egypt, Brazil's largest market among Arabs and second in the world, exports increased 8 per cent in volume in July over the same month in 2015. Sales revenues, however, declined 3.21 per cent in the same comparison period.

From January to July, beef exports to the Arab world totalled almost USD 660 million, climbing nearly 10 per cent over the same period of last year.
