The ministry of agriculture on Wednesday held a working group on market access targeting the US, EU, Russia, China, South Korea, Viet Nam, Mexico and the Philippines – 57 per cent of beef demand.

Progress has already been made across EU, Russian and Vietnamese markets, according to agriculture minister Carlos Casamiquela, who added: “Results of the official visit to China were very positive – beef is very high on the President’s agenda.”

The group analysed progress and planned a long-term strategy to boost the beef value chain.
