Uruguayan Cattlemen Granted Angus Brand by European Union

11 December 2013

URUGUAY – Aberdeen Angus producers in Uruguay are now able to certify the provenance of Angus beef destined for the European Union.

The European Union has granted the National Meat Institute (INAC) the authority to label beef as Angus, at the request of the Aberdeen Angus Breeders Association.

Specifications demand the stock must come from young steers or heifer of Angus ‘ancestry’.
