The farming sector has received phenomenal support from the British public over the past year with producers continuing to deliver high quality British food – despite a number of challenges including unseasonable snow last April that disrupted thousands of farming businesses.

Ongoing research shows more people than ever before want to buy more traceable food while a One Poll survey revealed that 78 per cent of shoppers believe supermarkets should now stock more British food.

Now 18 farmers representing all farming sectors have recorded a video to say a big ‘thank you’ to the public for backing British farming and buying the food they produce every day of the year.

NFU Vice President Adam Quinney said: “After the furore at the start of the year over horsemeat, complex food chains and mislabelling, consumers have increasingly shown their support for British farmers. This video is just a small way of saying thank you to the people of Britain for backing British farming. Our farmers and growers will continue to work hard over Christmas and into the New Year to put more British food on more British plates and will continue to show how farming delivers for Britain.”
