In a third follow up report sent to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), it was reported that the causal agent of the FMD outbreaks in Zimbabwe was the FMD virus, serotype SAT 3.

Also, it was determined that the main cause of the outbreaks in the country was illegal movement of animals.

According to the OIE, cattle in Umguza district are still under quarantine with weekly inspections still on-going. No new cases have been detected.
