First Round Of FMD Vaccinations Announced For Ecuador

ECUADOR – The Ecuadorian Agency for Quality Assurance and the Ministry of Agriculture jointly initiated the first round of foot and mouth disease vaccinations on Monday.

Using 142 programmers and 121 vaccination technicians, the operation will pan out over 23 provinces.

A $7 million budget is available for the project which aims to distribute 5 million doses of vaccine and a further 500,000 additional strategic remains of needles and gels.

Efforts are aimed at securing disease free status for Ecuador. All cattle are expected to be vaccinated upon completion.
