Pasture damage and low forage yields from drought have plagued many farmers in the Gatineau, Pontiac and Témiscamingue regions of Quebec.

In response, a pool of CAN$ 2.15 million has been provided by federal and provincial funds.

Measures to support struggling stockmen are delivered as part of the AgriRecovery programme, a reactive government body that hopes to support producers faced with recovering ‘extraordinary’ costs.

Livestock and dairy producers interested in applying can obtain further details by contacting their regional MAPAQ service centre or by visiting the Quebec department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (in French only)
