January Beef Exports Rise 50 per cent

PARAGUAY – The government has reported a 50 per cent beef exports increase for January.

The exports increase was worth $67.871 million, a value increase of 61 per cent on January 2012 as 13, 254 tons were shipped.

Russia topped the list of beef and pork products buying more than 8830 tons of meat with Brazil coming second buying 1.690 tons worth $7.97 million.

Israel bought 1,120 tons of beef worth $6.07 million with the fourth destination being Hong Kong who took 560 tons of shipments worth $ 2.578 million.

Fifth largest was Angola with a volume of 393.84 tons which was worth $2.188 million for January, ahead of Chile which bought 192.4 tons worth 1.206 million.

On average prices Paraguay received were 7 per cent higher than January 2012.
