Two bulls are Golden-Oaks ST Alexander and Jotan Red, which have together earned West Country based Dairy Daughters more nominations in the junior, intermediate and senior maiden heifer classes.

“We’re delighted that the quality of these bulls has been recognised at such a high level and we’re particularly thrilled to have dominated the youngest age categories which represent the next generation of dairy cow replacements,” said Alison Dunphy from Dairy Daughters.

“And whilst we are proud of the two bulls concerned, we recognise that it is the skill of the breeder in using them to such good effect that is behind these achievements.

“So we’d like to offer our hearty congratulations to the Westwood family from Exmoor for producing Panda Alexa Fools Gold and Panda Allyander Fools Gold, which have been nominated in the junior heifer class, together with Bill Nadin and family from Derbyshire for breeding Sterndale Alexander Ghostly - nominated in the same class - and Sterndale Alexander Ashlyn in the intermediate heifer class.”

These heifers are all sired by Alexander who is making a big impact around the UK and internationally, and as more daughters come into milk, his reputation is growing for breeding fertile, healthy dairy cows which are also high for production and type.
