The NSW president Fiona Simson said our thoughts are with everyone who has been severely affected by the bushfires here in NSW and elsewhere.

“At NSW Farmers, we understand times like these can be extremely hard - emotionally, physically but also financially,” she said.

“We want to do everything we can to support our farmers to help alleviate just some of the many issues they face after a bushfire.

Official figures indicate there is more than 3,500km of fencing damaged by fires with the real number likely to be much higher following the number of fires across the state this summer.

Ms Simson said NSW Farmers had been actively involved in helping farmers during the bushfires and had also launched a fodder register with the Department of Primary Industry.

All donations, 100 percent of which will go directly to farmers’ fencing repairs, can be made to NSW Farmers’ Association Natural Disaster Relief Fund at NSW Farmers’ website.

Farmers who have been affected by fires and would like to seek financial assistance for fencing are encouraged to apply online also at NSW Farmers’ website.
