This work is being driven forward alongside an investigation into the recent conduct of NBA Director Kim Haywood.

Hamish McBean, Review Committee Chairman, says: “As of Monday 31 October, NBA Director Kim Haywood was suspended on full pay while an investigation into her recent conduct is carried out. We have contracted a third party human resources company to ensure this is done correctly and fairly."

“You will appreciate that we have to follow due process in this matter and cannot give any details while the investigation is under way. Other members of staff are continuing within their roles and their sustained hard work and commitment is appreciated by all at the NBA.”

“We do not want this investigation to draw away from work being done by the NBA to maintain momentum in giving a voice to beef farmers, particularly given the current issues surrounding CAP reform. We also want to reiterate that the Review Committee is continuing in its task of ensuring a healthy and strong future for the NBA."

“The NBA has achieved much since its conception and, given its unique role in representing the sector, will continue to play a vital part and be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.”

The Review Committee is chaired by Hamish McBean, NBA Scotland Chairman and a farmer from Nairn in the Highlands. He is joined by Stephen Heenan (NBA Northern Ireland Council), Duff Burrell (NBA Northern Council) and Paul Westaway (NBA Beef Expo Chairman). They intend to draw additional strength from others within and outside of the beef sector, consulting widely on the best way forward.
