A total of 6,000 American - Angus breeder cattle were shipped to Novorossiysk port.

Upon completion of the cattles acceptance in Novorossiysk, specialists of Agribusiness MIRATORG successfully transported the animals to two farms, located in the Trubtchevsk district of Bryansk region.

The two farms have been recently constructed, specifically for the purpose of housing these cattle.

The Angus breed was chosen for two main reasons: firstly because it is considered one of teh most popular beef breeds in the world, and secondly because of the climatic condition of Bryansk, the cattle can be housed outdoors all year.

By the end of 2011, the project intends to have constructed five more farms in the region, and stock them with cattle. It is hoping to have 21,000 head of breeding cattle over the seven farms by the end of the year.

In total, it is expected that 33 farms will be constructed, by 2012. In total, the farms will manage 250,000 cattle. 100,000 of which will compromise the breeding herd.

A feedlot will be constructed to hold up to 35,000 cattle on feed at any one time.

The project is hopinh to have a production capacity of 48,000 tonnes of beef a year.

A high tech plant will be constructed for slaughter and processing. 150,000 ha of land will have being cultivated by the end fo the project, with more than 2000 employees required.

Total investment will be more than 24 billion rubles (approx 5.9 million Euros).
