CPRS Cattle Methane Plan Shunned
AUSTRALIA - The Federal Government's plan to include cattle methane emissions in its Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) has been slammed by a former government scientist.

Retired woodland ecologist Dr Bill Burrows, who worked in Queensland for 40 years, says cattle properties will go broke if the scheme is implemented, reports ABC Rural.
Although the government won't include agriculture in the CPRS until 2015, Dr Burrows says there is still no formula to work out how much methane is being produced in a cattle herd.
"Somehow or other, we're going to have to come up with a figure that is relevant to every animal, in every paddock, on every property," he told ABC Rural.
"I just think the inherent variability in this is so great, I think landholders should really tell the government to go jump."
