Veterinary Dept to Vaccinate 20,000 Cattle in Mazabuka

ZAMBIA - The Veterinary Department in Mazabuka has embarked on the vaccination of 20,000 head of cattle against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) to stop the spread of the disease to other parts of the district.

This is according to a circular by the Veterinary Department.

According to the circular, the programme will be conducted in all the veterinary camps in chief Mwanachingwala and part of chief Hanjalika’s areas where cases of FMD were endemic.

And some veterinary assistants involved in the vaccination programme said the exercise would also be extended to commercial farms which had reported some cases of FMD.
