National Limousin Sale Averages More Than $7,200

US - The National Limousin Sale was January 12 in the Beef Palace Auction Arena at the National Western Complex in Denver. The 22.25 live lots grossed $162,645 for a $7,229 average. In addition, five embryo lots averaged $2,000.

Class averages were as follows: 3.25 bulls – $21,600; one planned mating – $5,500; six bred females – $4,833; and 12 open heifers – $4,829.

The top seller was the People’s Choice champion purebred bull. Magness Land and Cattle, Platteville, Colo., and Counsil Family Limousin, Madisonville, Texas, consigned CFLX Wild Card – a Feb. 3, 2008, son of DHVO Deuce 132R. He sold to a syndicate of nine buyers for $45,000.
