QMS is leading the group of exporters to the SIAL food fair between 19-23 October. The trade-only show attracts more than 150,000 visitors from over 190 countries over the five days, and is a major event for many of Europe’s most important buyers.

The companies confirmed to be working from the QMS stand are:

  • Scotbeef
  • ABP (Scotland) Ltd
  • AK Stoddart
  • Scotch Premier
  • Dawn Meats
  • Mathers
  • McIntosh Donald
  • Millers of Speyside
  • Abacus Foods.

QMS Chairman Donald Biggar, said: “With all the world’s meat exporting nations descending on Paris this month, it’s critically important for Scotland’s exporters to have a strong presence at this show and explain what makes Scotch Beef and Scotch Lamb different and desirable to their customers.

“With the Euro exchange rate making Scottish exports more competitive on the European market, it’s good to see so many Scottish companies are still working to develop this valuable sector.

“It’s an exciting time for our industry on this continent. The already strong reputation of the Scotch brand and its PGI status is being raised by our presence at CIBUS fair in Italy, SIAL and the SIRHA in France.

“Scotch Beef has also been selected as the official meat for the Bocuse D’or culinary grand prix in Lyon in January, and there’s a great opportunity for exporters to build business on the back of all this work.”
