US Sector Bolsters JBS's Results

BRAZIL - In the second quarter of this year, Brazilian beef giant, JBS gained market share in mature markets.

The company said that 78 per cent of revenue was generated in development markets such as USA, Europe and Australia.

In total, the company showed 21.7 per cent growth in its consolidated net revenue when compared with the previews quarter, going from R$5,859.1 million (reais) to R$7,129.5 million.

The company said the Beef Unit of JBS USA (including Australia)performed well in EBITDA margin growth from zero per cent in the first quarter to 5.1 per cent in the second quarter, an EBITDA increase from –US$0.9 million to US$132.9.

The US said saw an increase in its net revenue from US$1,976.9 million in the first quarter to US$2,630.0 million in the sceond quarter of the year representing 33.0 per cent growth.

The consolidated EBITDA of the company increased by 64.9 per cent in the second quarter of the year compared to the first quarter going from R$176.3 million to R$290.8 million.

The net revenue of JBS Brasil increased by 13.9 per cent in the period in comparison with the previous quarter, despite the adverse conditions for the industry, allowing the Company to continue its growth strategy in this market, JBS said.

The company said it is positive about the prospects for the next half year. The company believes that if the present conditions prevail relevant margins will be sustained during this second semester.
