QMS Rallies Scotch Support

UK - Quality Meat Scotland are appearing at Britain’s largest food trade show with the intention of rallying up more support for the Scottish beef and lamb industry.

The Scotch Butchers Club, QMS’ group of premium independent butchers that support and promote Scotch Beef and Lamb, is having a stand at Food and Drink Expo from Sunday to Wednesday at the NEC, Birmingham.

Independent Retailer Manager for QMS, June Lomax, said: “Foodex Meatrex is the only UK exhibition covering all aspects of food production, and it’s a great opportunity to reach the kind of industry people that need to know about the Scotch Brand and the Scotch Butchers Club.

“We’re going to be part of the overall Scotland stand at the expo and will be enabling people from throughout the food service sector to see the quality of Scotch Beef and Lamb and discuss with them the opportunities it could bring their business.”

As welll as taking stand space a the event, Quality Meat Scotland is also sponsoring the Foodex Meatex Live cookery theatre at the event, with celebrity Chef Colin Capon leading a demonstration called Get ready for summer with Scotch focusing on outdoor eating, and tailoring products that consumers can easily use on barbecues and for easy summer dinners.

June said: “One of the things bringing people back into butcher shops in Scotland is offering gold standard service, with top quality produce and innovative products.

“Visitors to the Scotch Butcher’s Club stand will see that through selling Scotch the have a way of guaranteeing their customers will come away with a world leading product, and will hopefully come away with some exciting new ideas.” 

Food and Drink Expo together with Foodex Meatex runs until Wednesday 9 April – 08.00 until 17.00, the Scotch Beef Club stand is K200b in the Scottish Pavilion.
