Test results negative for suspect farm

UK - Initial tests results for foot and mouth disease on farm animals at a farm outside the surveillance area showed the farm was free of the disease, the government said on today (Friday).

"Tests on those cattle turned out to be negative," a spokesman for the agriculture ministry said.

The results confirm the belief of the farmer that his stock were not showing symptoms of the disease.
