This federally registered not-for-profit organization will focus on national and international issues that impact on the economic and business interests of the cattle feeding industry in Canada.

According to Chairman of the Board, Rick Paskal, the initial objectives of the corporation are to develop a pro-active issues management, political response and communications capability.

"This will enable cattle feeders to work in a collaborative way with other sectors to improve industry competitiveness, increase domestic value added production and expand markets for Canadian beef," said Paskal.

Board Members are: Bill Freding - BC; Larry Nolan - AB; Lloyd Sproule - AB; Rick Paskal - AB; Bill Jameson - SK; Larry Schweitzer - MB; Doug Kaufman - ON; & Mark Grimard - PQ. The Board will be filled out shortly with the addition of a representative from Atlantic Canada.

NCFA has begun meeting with federal officials and communicating with partner organizations on current issues like the implementation of the enhanced feed ban that goes into effect on July 12, 2007.

The NCFA will be headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.
