The Cattlemen's Beef Board has established the Beef Board Meeting Web log at www.beefboardmeeting.com to allow producers who pay into the $1 per head national Beef Checkoff to keep up with the discussions taking place at the convention.

During the annual meeting, which runs through Saturday, producers decide how checkoff dollars will be spent.

The interactive nature of the Web log format allows producers to keep up with committee meetings and provide immediate feedback. Producers can click on the comments link under any of the committee information pages on the site to add their voice to the process.

The Beef Checkoff was established in 1985. It assesses $1 per head on the sale of live domestic and imported cattle. States retain up to 50 cents on the dollar. The rest goes to the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board.
