According to importers and wholesalers, there has been reduced beef consumption in the retail sector despite the seasonal period of high demand commencing at the end of last year. Mass media reports over the safety of US beef have led to some consumer concerns about all imported beef.

Wholesale prices for some cuts declined slightly compared with the last few weeks due to the large quantity of product imported in December last year. Chuck roll fell 100 won to 6500 won/kg while clod was unchanged at 5300 won/kg.
