Application of tech to improve condition of cattle emphasised

This was the message on the first day of the two- day Symposium on "Livestock and Livelihood in UP", inaugurated by Dr MB Pathak, founder director general of the UP Council of Agricultural Research, at Kisan Mandi Bhawan here today.

"Every facet of agriculture is going to be affected by bio-fuel and energy generation, so it requires to be promoted as an industry. It is important to realise and work towards integrated research and development of the livestock sector with agriculture to achieve higher growth in this sector," said Pathak.

He emphasised on the self-sustainability and non-polluting virtues of livestock economy. “This sector requires the urgent attention of government to implement and transform the research work and formulated policies condusive to progress at grass root level,” he said. Some dairy entrepreneurs, representative of various cattle and cow rearing associations and progressive farmers are also participating in this symposium.
