Peterson, who grew up on a farm in Baker, Minn., will discuss such topics as extension of the current farm bill, major changes in philosophy of the current bill, ethanol’s impact on commodity programs and livestock issues.

“Addressing the expiration of the current farm bill will be one of Farm Bureau’s biggest priorities in the coming year,” said AFBF President Bob Stallman. “Chairman Peterson’s remarks and insight will be invaluable and timely for participants at the AFBF farm bill conference.”

The current farm bill expires September 2007. The AFBF farm bill conference will provide an overview of the issues likely to be faced during the writing of the legislation.
