Mad cow carries risk of sparking U.S. inflation

WASHINGTON - Americans are keeping faith with beef despite the discovery of mad cow disease in Washington state last month, but if Europe is any guide a widening of the crisis could trigger a rise in U.S. inflation, economists said.
