Simmental Competitors Ready To Tackle National Simmental Show

MONTANA - Simmental competitors from all across the United States are putting their game faces on for the “Super Bowl of Cattle Shows”, the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO.

With $17,250 dollars in premiums waiting and a hard working crew from the Colorado Simmental Association effectively coordinating all of the breed shows, highlights for the week are as follows:

Sunday morning, January 14, kicks off with the Female Pen Show, while Monday, January 15, features the Bull Pen Show. It is during this show, that the People’s Choice Power Bull, sponsored by the Colorado Simmental Association, Pfizer Animal Health and Ivesco, will be judged, with the selection taking place at the One Volume XIV sale.

Tuesday, January 16, offers the Junior Breeding Show, immediately followed by the National Simmental Open Class Bull Show. Closing out this year’s show will be the National Simmental Open Class Female Show, on Wednesday, January 17. All shows will be featuring both Purebred and Percentage Simmental divisions.

The American Simmental Association is headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, and maintains the herd registries for the Simmental and Simbrah breeds of cattle. ASA has an active adult and junior membership of nearly 8,000.
