Topping the sale was Coland Vocal, a March 2005-born home-bred bull consigned by Dennis and Hilda Rogers, Haverfordwest, Dyfed. This Coland Neptune son is out of Coland Prudence and was knocked down to Messrs Mitchell, Duns, Berwickshire.

In the show ring the championship prize went to a July 2004-born bull, Whitebog Simon, from A. McKenzie, Fortrose, Ross-shire. The prize-winner, sired by Lascar and out of Whitebog Madonna, was bought by Jonathan Wright, Girvan, Ayrshire, for 3,600gns.

Pure-bred females were much in demand, selling at 2,200gns twice. Firstly the female champion, Cuil Una, from Graham and Colin McClymont’s Cuil herd, Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire, sold to Alan Howatson, Newton Stewart. This March-2005-born heifer is sired by Sacha and out of Cuil Olga.

Going for the same price was Rigel Petra, a May 2005-born heifer from Messrs Pye, Yarm, North Yorkshire. This Sagitaire daughter was snapped up by Eric Graham, Shetland.
