Total beef exports to the market over the calendar year to October fell 6% compared with the same period in 2005, to 22,978 tonnes.

Chilled beef shipments to Taiwan over the first ten months of the year eased by 38% to 1,342 tonnes and accounted for only 6% of total Australian exports to Taiwan, compared with 9% over the same period in 2005.

Despite exports for the first ten months of 2006 declining, shipments of beef shin/shank to Taiwan were strong at 13,010 tonnes, up 8.2% compared with the same period in 2005.
