Five nations unite for beef alliance

US - The United States, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico and Australia met this month at the Five Nations Beef Conference.

Out of the meeting emerged the Five Nations Beef Alliance, which confirmed group support for animal identification, vigilant quarantine approaches and a scientific approach to managing animal welfare issues, reports Farmonline.com.
The primary aim of the alliance is to increase consumer confidence in beef product safety and it will pursue trade reforms to increase access in Asia and the European Union. The first chairman of the alliance is Bill Bray, Cattle Council of Australia president.
