Japan prices hold firm
AUSTRALIA - Beef exporters to Japan reported another steady week, as tight supplies of suitable grassfed cattle and strong competition from other markets impacted on export prices.Wholesale prices for imported Australian beef remained steady, to slightly stronger this week, with the exception of tongues which fell 50 yen/kg, to 1,675 yen/kg. Chilled grassfed fullset prices rose 5 yen/kg, to 875 yen/kg, while shortfed fullset prices jumped 20 yen/kg, to 1,005 yen/kg.
