JBS, the world’s largest and most progressive meat company announced that its three EU approved feedlots in Australia have been certified by GLOBAL GAP to their Integrated Farm Assurance Standard for Cattle.

The GLOBAL GAP certification brings these feedlots in line with the highest integrated farm assurance standards worldwide. JBS managed the project through their office in London with SAI Global UK, an accredited service provider for GLOBAL GAP.

JBS operates three EU approved feedlots in Australia at Riverina, Caroona and Beef City where they feed over 100,000 cattle daily. In total JBS Australia operates six feedlots with a total daily capacity of over 160,000 cattle.

“We are delighted with the news” said Marcus O’Sullivan, Managing Director of JBS Global (UK), “It reaffirms our belief that the product we produce is of a world class standard, not only in terms of its eating quality but in the integrity of the supply chain which backs up the product”.

This approval now puts Australian Beef from JBS on a level playing field in terms of Farm Assurance with many of the European Farm Assurance programmes.
