Labour Welcomes New Farming Face

NEW ZEALAND - Labour’s Agriculture spokesperson, Damien O’Connor, has welcomed the election of Bruce Wills as the new president of Federated Farmers.

Mr Wills, a sheep and beef farmer, has chaired the federation’s meat and fibre council for the last three years.

“Labour sees the election of Mr Wills as a sign of a fresh, new, and positive way forward. I have already sent Mr Wills a message of congratulations, and hope to meet with the new board soon.

“New Zealand needs agriculture, and agriculture needs strong leadership and sound policy,” Damien O’Connor said.
