Anthrax Reported In Serbia

SERBIA - An outbreak of anthrax has been reported in Serbia.

Dr Zoran Micovic, the Serbian Chief Veterinary Officer, told the World Organization for Animal Health - OIE - that the outbreak had been found in cattle and goats in the villages of Novo Milosevo and Bocar in Vojvodina.

In the outbreak there have been four deaths of animals - two cattle and two goats.

The cause of the outbreak is at present unknown, but the authorities have instituted quarantine arrangements and movement controls.
